ARP: Week 9

Focus: Connecting with your intuition — trust that a neutral, calm feeling about something means you are connecting with your intuition. A feeling of fear, urgency, or any excitatory feeling means the decision is coming from dysregulation, not intuition.
Repetition: I am connected with my intuition. My intuition knows what my body needs, and it speaks to me from a place of calm and neutrality. I will slow down and take the time to listen to my intuition and make measured decisions.

Morning Routine

You will keep your morning routine throughout your healing process and beyond. Keep the routine exactly the same for at least a year. Avoid making decisions in the morning, as this lowers your dopamine. Prepare things the night before that eliminate the need to make decisions in the morning.

Practise lying on the floor or ground a few times a day, or just sitting in a squat. The goal is to just be without any distractions, between activities. Look off into the distance as often as possible throughout the day. A great goal when working online is to look off into the distance every 20 minutes, for 20 seconds. When outside, look off into the distance and look up often. This regulates our nervous system and creates serotonin.

Sound and Frequency

We will begin to work with frequency this week. It will be ongoing, and you may experiment to find what works for you.

In the mornings, keep sound to guided meditations, Mozart, nature sounds, tuning forks, real instruments, and your own voice. You can also look at pictures (in a book in the mornings, not online) that would cause your brain to think you are hearing these sounds. For example, buy used coffee table books that feature birds, the forest, tribes, waterfalls, grazing animals, oceans, and so on, and take time to look through them before sunrise with a candle, or throughout the day.

Binaural beats may work for some, but we don’t want this to be the main focus and can be dysregulating for those with a nervous system disorder. I would not listen to anything that forces different types of brain waves. Choose tuning forks that apply to your needs — for instance, 40 Hz is good for memory, brain fog, and brain injury, among other things.

Mozart is ideal for everyone; where we are from and the way we speak affects how we hear. A person from an African desert will hear different frequencies than a person from the forests of Scotland, but Mozart is heard deeply and fully by all.

Listen to Mozart with headphones for at least 30 minutes a day — you can do other things while you listen. If possible, play it alongside rain sounds, waterfall sounds, or white noise. Masaru Emoto has one album, called Messages from the Water, that can be good for everyone as well, along with Gregorian Chant.

As often as possible, seek out nature and listen to the birds, the wind, domestic animals, bodies of water, and so on. When you listen to nature in real life, choose one thing to focus on first and give yourself time — at least 10 minutes, with no maximum limit. Then widen your hearing to take in all the sounds at once for the same amount of time. Do this exercise often; you can use recorded sounds to practise more frequently if needed.

Begin to chant, hum, and sing often throughout the day. The sound of your own voice is incredibly healing.

Keep most of your listening to music from before 1930. The exception is if you want to dance or sing — both are highly encouraged.

Smiling and Laughter

Focus on smiling and laughter as well this week. Your body does not know you are “fake smiling” or forcing laughter. You can use laughing practices and exercises found on YouTube, and just begin smiling throughout the day.

You can use comedy, but keep it lighthearted and clean for your nervous system. Funny animal videos are fine, but try to avoid content where humans or animals get hurt for laughs — so stay away from “fails.” You know you are watching a video, but your nervous system does not — we are creating safety with every practice.

Beef Tongue and Meat Stock

If you like, source and make tongue this week. Make beef meat stock.

Bake marrow bones at 450°F for 20 minutes, then set aside to cool.

Once the stock has cooked for three hours, remove the tongue to cool. Once you can hold the tongue, peel off the rough outer skin. Cut the fat layer off the bottom and blend it with a little stock and the marrow from earlier, then pour this back into the stock once it is finished cooking.

You know the meat stock is finished when the meat is falling off the bone. Cut the tongue into bite-sized pieces, remove the meat from the bones, and put both into the stock. You now have an incredibly nutrient-dense and delicious stew.

You could alternatively source beef heart and dextrose/sugar free bacon. Slice the bacon into cubes and cook in a skillet. Remove bacon and add cubed heart to the bacon fat, cooking medium rare.

B1 (Benfotiamine)

Purchase benfotiamine (from Bulk Supplements) this week. We will begin taking B1, and add the other B vitamins as we go on. We will not use a B-complex — we will only use the benfotiamine form of B1. Take it with food, as it is fat-soluble.

Begin by taking a dose the size of a grain of rice, and increase that dose by 100% each week. You may feel paradoxical reactions, and they can be quite strong — back up a dose and stay there for another week if needed. There is no benefit to pushing through these reactions, so go slowly. Some people will have no reactions at all.

This will remyelinate and regrow your nerves. You may feel sensitivity at the beginning or near the end — this is the nerves regrowing, and it is a good thing!

Almost everyone is deficient in B1 if we have eaten a modern diet (not just the Standard American Diet, but the diet of the last few hundred years) and live in a modern way (as in, you live in a house and drive a car, have a job, or stay home with your children outside of community, and so on).

We will get up to a dose of 2,600 mg per day and stay there for eight months. We will slowly remove the B1 by 50 to 100 mg per week when it is time. If you have a nervous system disorder, keeping 250 mg in per day for life is a good support.

What HUGE accomplishments you have made already! Keep going and I am proud of you!
