Focus:
Compassion for ourselves and our bodies and approaching communications from the body with curiosity and neutrality.
Repetition:
I do not have the entire picture of what my body is doing, I only have my perception which is not always correct.
I have immense compassion for what my body is doing with the tools it has been given.
A Love Letter to Your Body
Congratulations on getting to month four!! You are doing a fantastic job indeed! This week is more like a love letter from me to you. I want one in return but I want it to be directed at your body, at you and I never want you to stop writing this letter.
I once saw an intracellular test where a person was missing seventeen cellular nutrients. I was filled with overwhelming compassion instantly. What a precious body to be working so hard without the proper fuel!! The test was mine and I felt compassion for me. And this was just my cellular nutrients, not even my microbes!!
We simply do not have that many cellular deficiencies AND a healthy microbiome. If we could all understand what our bodies have been missing for the last 200 years, perhaps we would give ourselves more grace the next time we are tired, if our stools are not doing what we want them to, if our histamines are not yet regulated, etc.
Simple Needs, Complex Bodies
Our bodies’ needs are beautifully simple but they themselves are incredibly complex and intricate. Think for a moment about all the years we ate candy, modern flour, desserts, stayed indoors all day, stayed up too late, maybe went plant-based and/or low fat and our bodies are here today, still communicating their needs and doing what we ask them to depending on our level of health.
Think about how hormonally imbalanced we can be, how many microbes could be missing or dormant from our microbiome, how many amino acids, vitamins, minerals we may be lacking and yet you are here!! Our bodies have been waking up every day and doing their very best to do everything we ask.
The Car Across the Country
Imagine you were taking a trip across a large country in your vehicle. You noticed a little noise but did not think much of it and continued the trip. As you travelled across the country, more little sounds and shudders begin to happen. Once you were at your destination, you took your car to see a mechanic. You were shocked to find out that you almost lost the engine and the little problem in the beginning turned into a major problem at the end because you simply did not have enough knowledge to know something was really wrong. You would feel a great amount of gratitude for your car getting you safely where you needed to be! And that is just an object that you can replace!
When We Are Depleted
When we cannot make our feel good chemicals, our mental health suffers. When we cannot make our vitamins and we are not able to absorb minerals, our whole picture of health is greatly altered, leaving us exhausted, with mental health issues and our physical health is delicate at best. When we are missing microbes, have pathogens and overgrowths, we are literally not ourselves! When our hormones are not healthy, we can be quite miserable with no sleep, no energy, snacking every two hours, not feeling joy or connection, choosing isolation, being very critical, etc.
Think about a time you were frustrated, depressed or anxious — that was not because you chose to feel that way, it is because you are lacking some things and have too much of others. You are doing the very best you can at this moment. You are here and providing your body with beautiful tools that it needs to rebuild and regenerate.
Cultivating Compassion
When doing your body scan meditations, cultivate compassion for your body just as it is. Look at yourself and begin to truly appreciate what a work of art you are! Grow in love, gratitude and compassion for yourself every day.
As you sit outside in nature and you are moved by the beauty of the world, know that YOU are part of nature; you are not separate from it. You are magnificent as a mountain stream, the entirety of the bloom of flowers in spring, the grandeur of the lion as it stalks across the savannah, you are fearfully and wonderfully made and focusing on this aspect of your healing journey is not to be overlooked.
Make gifts of love to yourself daily, give yourself the 5 minute body scans to take a moment to appreciate you, use the repetition throughout the day, sit outside in the quiet and just notice things, do your breathing exercises, seek out laughter and connection. You are worth every gift and this time of healing is so precious, slow down and enjoy!
Intensive Gut Healing Phase
We will be starting the intensive gut healing phase which will rebuild the gut lining, tighten the junctions in your gut and reverse your leaky gut. You may also start the mucosa rebuild at this time if you can tolerate both simultaneously. This phase is strategic and crucial to your recovery.
This portion of ARP may be a little more challenging and you may experience more die-off or difficult symptoms and that is ok! Let us go into this part of the adventure with loads of compassion and our curiosity and neutrality. If you experience massive reactions to stock, begin the mucosa rebuild first. Use our “Reversing Food Intolerances” when it is time to introduce any food you have a reaction to. Never introduce foods you are anaphylactic allergic to without a practitioner’s assistance.
You are going to do a phenomenal job!
