Fermented Pickles

 

Ingredients

  • Small pickling cucumbers
  • 4-6 cloves garlic
  • 2 sprigs fresh dill
  • 1/2 T peppercorns
  • 1 t turmeric
  • 1 oak leaf (for crispness)
  • 1 T mineral salt
  • Filtered or spring water

Directions

  • Tightly pack cucumbers into quart jar
  • Add dill, garlic, peppercorns, salt, turmeric, and oak leaf
  • Fill to shoulders with water
  • Lid and allow to ferment one week
